Life-Like Diesel EMD E6 Locomotive A/B Sets
By the late 1930s, streamlined passenger trains were at the forefront as the desired method of luxury travel. These streamlined luxury trains were headed by the sleek styling of the E6. With its long slant nose and smooth sides, the E6 began a new era on America's long distance passenger trains. The E6 was EMD's first true standardized production passenger locomotive, as earlier locomotives were essentially custom built for each railroad. Many of these elegant speedsters logged over a million miles in their long lasting distinguished careers.
The PROTO 2000 E6 captures the essence of the prototype. From the long slanted nose to the sprung diaphram on the rear, this model embodies streamlined power and speed. Precisely crafted injection molding provides exquisite reproduction of the grills and other distinctive details. The body features see-through steps, molded-in windshield wipers, and operating side and rear doors.
